Designed for use in compact pistols, this load still manages to pack a big punch.

Mike McNett at DoubleTap wanted to create a light-recoiling 9 mm load that still offered respectable terminal performance. It was intended particularly for super-compact 9 mm handguns or for shooters who are extremely recoil sensitive. Based on my test results, it looks like McNett succeeded. This blistering fast 80-grain TAC-XP bullet penetrated 13 inches in 10-percent ordnance gelatin and expanded to more than .5 inch. And, this was out of a compact Smith & Wesson M&P. Also, recoil was very mild.
| Load | MV (fps) | PEN (inches) | EXP (inches) | RW(grains) |
| 9 mm DoubleTap 80-grain TAC-XP | 1,545 | 13.0 | .60 | 60 |
