The newest iteration of the FNS series of handguns from FN America is the FNS-9 Compact in flat dark earth.

“Flat dark earth began as a military-designated color that FN pioneered with the introduction of the FN SCAR series in the early 2000s,” said John Keppeler, vice president of sales and marketing. “The color remains a popular choice for military customers and consumers, making this addition a natural extension for the FNS-9 Compact series.”

The pistol is available with two different magazine options, one 12-round option with a pinky extender to ensure a better grip and one full-size 17-round magazine with a grip sleeve for range and backup use. Another upgrade is a "padfolio-style" soft case that makes for efficient and discreet storage and transportation.

The FNS-9 Compact FDE contains many of the same features found in the original matte-black FNS Compact series, including double-action operation, a 3.6-inch barrel and a 5.5- to 7.7-pound trigger pull. Suggested retail price on the FNS-9 Compact FDE is $599.
