Federal Premium is now loading high-performance Berger bullets, known among competitors on the Precision Rifle Series circuit, into its own line of Gold Medal rifle ammunition.

The new Gold Medal Berger loads use a Berger Juggernaut OTM, Hybrid OTM or BT target bullet design that features a high ballistic coefficient in order to give shooters flatter trajectories, less wind drift and improved long-range accuracy. Federal is loading these rounds into the company's brass and is using Gold Medal match primers and a proprietary powder to provide shooters with accurate factory loads. These new rounds are also designed to run under SAAMI specifications for overall bullet length.

To start, four calibers will be offered in the new lineup. First, a .223 Rem. target load features a 73-grain Berger BT Target bullet and retails at a suggested price of $32.95. Next, the company offers a 6.5 Grendel load featuring a 130-grain Berger Hybrid OTM bullet and retails at a suggested price of $34.95. Federal also offers a 6.5 Creedmoor load that also uses a 130-grain Hybrid OTM bullet, and that also retails at a suggested price of $34.95. Finally, the company offers a .308 Win. option that features a 185-grain Berger Juggernaut OTM bullet. The suggested retail price on the .308 Win. is also $34.95.
