1911 Carry Options and Techniques

The 1911 is arguably the greatest fighting pistol ever made, but it won't do you any good if you don't have it on you when trouble arrives. Here are some great ways to carry the bulky ol' warhorse on your person and in a vehicle.

Para-Ordnance PXT 1911 SSP Gun Rights

For them, the field-proven, single-action 1911 is unquestionably the best self-defense handgun, and anything more than a few minor upgrades is simply unacceptable. This group will take stock in the Para-Ordnance 1911 SSP Gun Rights.

Kimber Ultra Covert II

The Ultra Covert II is a product of the Kimber Custom Shop and is a high-end pistol all the way. All Custom Shop guns are built by hand and get extra attention from Kimber's in-house gunsmiths.

Beretta PX4

Dating back to the early part of the 20th century, this classic cartridge is inexorably tied to the seminal John Moses Browning 1911 design for which the cartridge was developed. However, one of the most recent offerings to chamber this cartridge, the rotary barrel-locking Beretta Px4 Storm, is by no means a conventional handgun design.

Charter Arms Crimson Patriot

The Patriot family includes three variations, all built on Charter's well-known Bulldog frame. Common across the line is a six-round cylinder, with the biggest differences between the guns being barrel length and sights.

Benelli SuperNova

When it comes to choosing an all-around shotgun—one that will serve nicely for any task, in any condition, anywhere—my vote goes to the ubiquitous pump. Benelli gives a stellar example of just how versatile a pump-action shotgun can be with its SuperNova.

Novak's Custom Smith & Wesson 65 Half-Fitz Special

The Novak Custom Smith & Wesson Model 65 is not only a contemporary version of the classic Colt snubnose, it proves even a good defensive wheelgun can be improved upon.

C.O. Arms AWP Extreme Combat

Despite being very long in the tooth—that means old for you Generation Z folks—the 1911 platform is still one of the most popular pistols in the United States.

CCF RaceFrame Glock

When metal meets Glock, some say the improved handling and performance are modern alchemy. Those in the know call it the CCF RaceFrame.

Citadel M-1911

Looking for a 1911 without the old warhorse's hefty price tag? Look no further.
