While by the time this is posted the winner has been chosen in SIG Sauer's Take a Shot contest, I had the pleasure of sitting with one of the finalists on the ride to SIG's range day.

Jeff Gabel was the video winner of the contest, with his submission. Gabel hails from Iowa and has a history with firearms similar to many. He grew up in a family not hostile to guns, but yet not in the gun culture. He went hunting once with his dad but not regularly, and never really thought much about firearms until he became a father. Acquiring a proper self-defense handgun became a priority, and he started looking at SIGs when he saw the contest.

The finalist from the sweepstakes drawing and Jeff from the video competition were flown to Las Vegas to compete in a head-to-head shoot-off at the conclusion of SIG's Range Day. Johnathon Akers from Texas, the sweepstakes drawing winner, was the winner of the $10,000 prize package.
