For a trip to the range, nothing beats a handy case. Sure, there are heavy-duty cases if you're going to be traveling a distance or over questionable terrain, but if you're just heading out for a lunch-hour trip, something less bulky might be better.
Allen Company's M&P-branded double handgun case is just the right size for those quick trips. With a sturdy nylon shell and plenty of padding, as well as six internal straps for magazines, this case can handle a pair of medium-to-large-frame pistols easily. The case opens flat to reveal two positions on each side in reversed position. The three magazine straps for each pistol are placed where the firearm on the opposite side might end, so there might be some minor adjustments needed.
MOLLE straps on one side of the bag allow for attachments, either to the pistol case or to attach the pistol case to a larger case (like, say, a discreet rifle case). The twin zippers are lockable for localities that require such or simply for an extra measure of security. There's even a small zippered pocket on the front of the case for extra batteries, cleaning supplies or other small items you might need on the firing line.
