You've done the research, factored in the key considerations such as comfort and fit. Now you have an ideal compact handgun for concealed carry. So why would you want to add unecessary bulk with a holster? Keep it simple. Keep it hidden with the Clipdraw.

A practicality-based retention device that enables you to carry a wide variety of handguns without a holster, the product features a spring-steel clip that mounts easily to the side of a variety of handguns by securing it beneath the right grip panel of such pistols as 1911s, Glocks and J-frame Smith & Wesson revolvers. Similarly, the company also offers universal models that attach elsewhere on handguns by way of 3M Corporation #4941 VHB (very high-bond) double-coated tape, which according to the Clipdraw's website, "is used in construction and aircraft industries as a replacement for rivets." If that's not impressive enough, the compound provides a permanent 20-pound bond that is resistant to heat, solvents and vibration. No matter which one you choose, the end result provides an economic and simple alternative to costly holsters, while maximizing concealment and ease of carry. Currently Clipdraws are available in a choice of either a black-powder coating , or a nickel-plated finish.

Given its simple, low-profile design I suspect this product would be ideally suited for people who are seated for long periods—along with those who are wheelchair bound like myself—which leads to my one gripe about the product. Despite being an inexpensive and well-made product available for full-size and compact 1911, it's designed to fit under the right-side grip panel, which prevents us southpaws from carrying in IWB fashion. Make a left-handed model, and it would be a great choice for anyone.
