To fit different hand sizes and shooter preferences, the FNX-9 comes with four interchangeable backstrap inserts. The inserts are offered in flat and rounded configurations, with checkering or serrations.
Field-stripping the FNX-9 is easy. Drop the mag and ensure the gun is unloaded. Lock the slide to the rear, rotate the takedown lever and remove the slide. Finish by pulling the recoil spring assembly and barrel from the slide.
Plenty of molded checkering on the grip frame and trigger guard prevent the FNX-9 from slipping in your hands. If those hands are covered in gloves, you’ll appreciate the room between the shoe and the bow.
The ambidextrous safety/decocking lever on the FNX-9 has three positions. When the lever is in the top position, the gun is on safe. Flicking it to the middle position disengages the safety and reveals a red dot. Pushing the lever all the way to the bottom decocks the hammer.
