The Editor
Tes Salb joined Shooting Sports USA as assistant editor in late August. The avid competitor has worked for the NRA since 2001, and formerly was a marketing specialist in the Marketing and Industry Relations Department of NRA's Competitive Shooting Division.
Only a year after starting in international pistol competition, Salb took the
gold in the 1997 U.S. Junior Olympic Pistol Championships. She earned aspot
on the 1998 U.S. World Championship Team and the World Cup Team, earned
two First Team All-American nominations while attending the University
of Notre Dame and placed 10th in the 2000 Olympic trials for air pistol.
After attaining her bachelor's of business adminstration in marketing degree,
she continued to shoot competitively, participating in the 2005 U.S. World
Cup and in 2004, was nominated as the Alternate Athlete Pistol Representative
for USA Shooting. Currently, she is a member of the U.S. National Pistol
Team and serves as acting team captain of the NRA Conventional Pistol Team.
Salb, who was born and raised in Hobbs, NM, is an avid equestrian. In heryouth, she enjoyed modern pentathlon, shooting, fencing, swimming, running and horseback riding. At the time, modern pentathlon had yet to become an Olympic sport, so she decided to pursue each of the disciplines individually, including shooting.
