Global Military Gear (GMG), a manufacturer and distributor of tactical weapon accessories designed to meet the needs of law enforcement agencies, target shooters and hunters that want performance without having to pay for MIL-SPEC engineering costs, has announced that it added 18 new products to its 2013 product line.

In addition, GMG announced that it will launch its first-ever consumer and business-to-business advertising program in the second quarter of 2013.

According to GMG Sales manager, Bob Pallitto, “The years 2011 and 2012 produced unprecedented growth for GMG, as more and more gun enthusiasts learned that they can get the look and feel as well as the enhanced performance they want for their tactical rifles, more economically than they ever thought possible. To meet the demand, we recently increased the product line by 14 percent, and will be doing more than ever before to ensure that price-sensitive gun enthusiasts across America know where to buy the 150 available Global Military Gear products.”

2013 additions to the GMG line include a wide range of AR15/M4 carbine stocks; buffer tubes; several two-piece quad rail handguards; free-floating handguards; sling adapters; a 2-piece upper vice block; and even a 25 pound gun magnet. The new products fill out a line that already included a wide range of stocks; rails; rail mounts; rail systems; bipods; foregrips; optic mounts; sights and magnifiers; iron and back-up sights; sling mounts and slings; tactical vests; holsters; and armorer’s tools.

Among the most sought after new products are three different AR15/M4 Aluminum Skeleton Stocks in 8-, 9- and 10-inch lengths. Selected by a panel of NRA Publications senior staff members, the prestigious Golden Bullseye Awards bestowed by Shooting Illustrated, American Rifleman and American Hunter celebrate the quality, innovation and value exemplified by recently introduced firearms, accessories and related equipment.

Nearly 100 shooting and hunting industry representatives gathered to “honor friends and colleagues for designing, manufacturing and marketing guns, ammunition and all manner of shooting and hunting gear to help NRA members exercise those freedoms won by the Founding Fathers and preserved by so many American heroes,” said Editorial Director John Zent, who delivered the keynote address at the 11th annual event.

Along with acknowledging top products, the event also commended outstanding personal achievement in the firearm industry with the presentation of the NRA Golden Bullseye Pioneer Award. Intended to spotlight an individual, or members of a team or partnership, responsible for the development and introduction of shooting equipment that has made a profound, positive and enduring impact on the way Americans shoot and hunt, the 2013 Pioneer Award gives accolade to Stephen D. Hornady, president of Hornady Mfg. Co.

“I am deeply honored to be chosen for this award,” said Hornady, who, along with leading a major ammunition company, is an accomplished global hunter, champion of the shooting sports and NRA Board of Directors member. “It is a special recognition to be joining previous honorees that are such outstanding individuals committed to this industry. I hope I live up to the reputations of my colleagues and the people who selected me.”

BATFE approval letter included, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Honored American Veterans Afield.

SIG Sauer introduced the SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace, a shooter’s aid that is designed to improve the single-handed shooting performance of buffer tube equipped pistols. This veteran-designed and U.S.-manufactured accessory enhances accuracy and reduces felt recoil when using an AR-style pistol.

The concept for the Pistol Stabilizing Brace was born from a trip to the range with a disabled veteran, who found it challenging to use an AR pistol one-handed. As the designer, an Army veteran himself, tested various designs, he found that the SB15 enhanced the accuracy and control for all shooters, regardless of physical ability.

“The SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace is an ideal choice for shooters and hunters of all ages and abilities,” said Jeff Creamer, SIG Sauer director of product management. “This is a great product that works well, makes the gun look better, and supports a terrific cause.”

Made from high-quality, elasto-polymer, the SB15 is manufactured to close tolerances and fits all pistols equipped with an AR-style buffer tube 1-1.2 inches in diameter. The Pistol Stabilizing Brace uses the operator’s forearm to provide stable support, thereby minimizing accuracy-robbing spin and shift. A flexible cuff with two adjustable nylon straps allows the SB15 to be custom fit to any user.

The SB15 has been approved by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) Technical Branch as a handgun accessory that requires no NFA registration and will not convert an AR pistol into a short-barrel rifle.

Offered exclusively through the SIGTac line of firearm accessories, a portion of the proceeds from each SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace sold will go to the support the veterans of Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA).

SIG Sauer will begin shipping its P516 and P556 pistols with the SB15 already installed in states where permitted. Soon to follow will be pistol versions of the SIGM400 and the SIG716. The SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace can be purchased separately and carries an MSRP of $139. The SB15 comes with the Pistol Stabilizing Brace, two straps and a letter of approval from the BATFE.

Weatherby now offers a 20-gauge version of three PA pump shotgun models: PA-08 Synthetic, PA-08 TR and PA-459 TR.

The versatile Weatherby PA-08 Synthetic is built to be a reliable, easy-to-use workhorse for various bird hunting applications, from doves to turkeys. TR (Threat Response) shotguns are designed for home and personal defense.

“Our new 20-gauge pumps offer dependable performance with less felt recoil than 12-gauge models,” said company President Ed Weatherby. “They are lightweight and easy to operate-a great shotgun choice for beginners and experienced shooters alike.”

Available with either a 26- or 28-inch barrel, the PA-08 Synthetic features a black lightweight injection-molded stock. All metalwork is matte black to reduce glare. The barrel is chrome lined to withstand years of high-volume shooting, while lengthened forcing cones help reduce felt recoil. A vented top rib dissipates heat and helps facilitate target acquisition, as does the brass bead front sight. Three application-specific choke tubes (Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full) are included with each gun. The 20-gauge PA-08 Synthetic weighs 6.5-7 pounds depending on barrel length. Magazine capacity is 5+1 (2 ¾-inch shells) or 4+1 (3-inch shells). MSRP: $399.

PA-08 TR features include the easy-to-use pump design and dual action bar system that have proven their dependability with the PA-08 sporting version. This shotgun also has matte black metalwork and a black lightweight injection-molded synthetic stock. The fixed cylinder bore barrel is 18.5 inches long and chrome lined. A bladed white dot front sight is readily visible when aiming, even in low-light conditions. Weight of the 20-gauge PA-08 TR model is six pounds; overall length measures 39 inches with a 14-inch length of pull. Magazine capacity is 5+1 (2 3/4-inch shells). MSRP: $399.

Key features of the PA-459 TR include a short 13.5-inch length of pull and an ergonomic pistol grip-style buttstock with rubber-textured grip areas for snag-free shouldering. All metalwork has a matte black finish; the 18.5-inch chrome-lined barrel is fitted with an extended removable ported cylinder choke tube for application-specific patterning. The LPA-style ghost ring rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The 20-gauge PA-459 TR weighs 5.75 pounds and measures 39 inches in overall length. Magazine capacity is 5+1 (2 ¾-inch shells) or 4+1 (3-inch shells). MSRP: $499.

Nikon has expanded its line of precision optics for AR-platform rifles by adding a new magnification to the popular P-223 riflescope.

Now available in 4-12×40 mm with BDC 600 reticle, the new Nikon P-223 makes any AR rifle more effective at longer ranges.

The P-223 4-12×40 mm comes in matte finish and is built with fully multicoated lenses. For the first time, one riflescope provides a choice between two different methods of bullet drop compensation.

One way to compensate for bullet drop at long ranges is by using the BDC 600 reticle with open circle aiming points and hash marks from 100 to 600 yards. The BDC 600 reticle was developed specifically for the trajectory of the .223 Rem./5.56 NATO round with a 55-grain polymer tip bullet and is most effective when used with Spot On Ballistic Match Technology.

The other way to compensate for bullet drop is by using Nikon’s Rapid Action Turret system that allows shooters to dial in their distances and hold the BDC reticle’s horizontal crosshair directly on the target. Distances as far as 100 to 600 yards can be dialed in, making the Rapid Action Turret system a quick and easy option for long range shooting.

There is now an added feature on the new P-223 that makes field adjustments easier than ever before. With Nikon’s spring-loaded instant zero-reset turrets, just sight in at 100 yards, then lift the adjustment knob, rotate to your “zero,” and re-engage. These turrets are set for precise ¼-inch adjustments and maintain their setting, even against repeated recoil.

The P-223 has a quick focus eyepiece to easily bring the reticle into focus. It also provides a generous 3.7 inches of eye relief for safe, comfortable shooting. The P-223 4-12×40 is waterproof, fogproof, and has an MSRP of $249.95.

Like all Nikon riflescopes, the P-223 is optimized for use with Spot On Ballistic Match Technology. The Spot On program provides users with exact aiming points on the BDC reticle for any load or ammunition at a specified range. Spot On is free online, but it can also be purchased for mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad and Android platforms.

BELTminus features Blue Force Gear’s patent-pending MOLLEminus technology, which reduces weight and bulk.

BELTminus is the third product in Blue Force Gear’s MOLLEminus line. Available in five sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL), BELTminus provides exactly what is needed for hot and humid conditions. Like all MOLLEminus products, simplicity was the main focus when designing BELTminus, making it the most refined and functional war belt in existence. Two mesh-lined shoulder strap versions are offered—the enhanced padded model and the low profile, free breathing model—both are MOLLE compatible.

“We’ve gone back to the basics with BELTminus,” said Ashley Burnsed, Blue Force Gear’s CEO. “The classic belt kit had a lot to offer the modern warrior but the concept needed updating. We applied our MOLLEminus technology to bring the belt kit into the 21st century, making it the lightest modular system available.”

The MOLLEminus design provides the thinnest, strongest, lightest modular load carriage of individual combat equipment: half the thickness of a dime, over 4 times as abrasion resistant as air textured nylon and formed from a single piece of Blue Force Gear’s proprietary ULTRAcomp laminate. BELTminus is compatible with all legacy issue MOLLE pouches and for the ultimate lightweight belt kit combine BELTminus with pouches featuring Blue Force Gear’s revolutionary Helium Whisper attachment system.

Looking for a collectible AR? Turnbull's latest is sure to turn heads.

Turnbull Mfg. Co. introduced its latest rifle, the carbon steel .223 Rem. TAR-15. This semi-automatic rifle was developed for the shooter or collector who wants a one-of-a-kind AR and intends to add his own sighting system. Like all Turnbull rifles, the TAR-15 features the workmanship and detail that is the mark of a Turnbull firearm.

“With the rising popularity of the AR-15 platform, it seemed time to design and produce a truly collectible version of this amazing shooting platform,” commented CEO Doug Turnbull, “while still turning out what is one of the most accurate and easy shooting AR type rifles. I am very proud to put my name on the TAR-15.”

The TAR-15 is based on the standard AR-15 platform, but the “standard” stops there. The upper and lower are both crafted from 8620 carbon finished in the Turnbull bone/charcoal case hardening process that lends both the colorful finish and hardens the steel. The barrel is chrome lined in both the bore and chamber ease of maintenance, durability and maximum accuracy.

The TAR-15 comes standard with a 16-inch barrel and includes a screw-on muzzle brake. Other barrel lengths up to 24 inches are available at an additional charge. These rifles use the direct-gas-impingement system for smoother recoil and control. The gun ships with an oversize integral trigger guard to fit a gloved finger easily for cold weather or other gloved situations.

The stocks and fore-end are premium American black walnut that has been designed to maximize the ergonomics of the AR-15 design while allowing for the aesthetics of fine wood furniture. The wood is available in either a urethane or oiled matte finish in several grades. The TAR-15 ships in a lockable hard travel case with a four- and 10-round magazine. All TAR-15 rifles carry the Turnbull one-year warranty.

MSRP is $2,495 complete with case and muzzle brake.
