Walther PPQ, NRA Annual Meetings

The Walther booth drew quite a few fans at the NRA Annual Meetings, and it took some time for crowds to thin enough to get a photo of one of the company’s new handguns.

Unmistakably German in its appearance, the .40 S&W Walther PPQ nevertheless has features pistol-packing Americans can appreciate. A smooth trigger with .4 inch of travel and a .1-inch reset, combined with a Picatinny rail and a non-slip texture on the frame, make it well suited for self-defense on these shores. An overall length of 7.2 inches and a weight of 24.5 ounces add to its appeal for concealed carry. The PPQ has an MSRP of $729.
