Looks like the Taurus Raging Judge in 28-gauge has recused itself from production.
Apparently, the decision was made sometime after this statement was released following SHOT Show:
With the vast array of new guns in the Taurus booth at the 2011 SHOT Show, it was easy to go into new-product overload. But the one gun that stood out most was the 28-gauge Raging Judge revolver. Whenever there is something truly new and different, there are bound to be juicy rumors, which included that the gun had been declared a National Firearms Act item by BATFE and “removed.” This is simply not the case. Taurus President and CEO Bob Morrison invited officials from the ATF’s Technology Branch to discuss some of the firm’s new product introductions. “I asked them to come and give some advice,” Morrison said. By all accounts the meeting was cordial, professional, and not a “raid” or “gotcha” as erroneously reported elsewhere. No determination on the gun’s status was made at the show. Remember, to even be in the United States at all, the prototype had to be cleared by BATFE for importation. On the 28-gauge Raging Judge revolver, Taurus sought BATFE’s advice on some modifications to the gun and is the process of implementing the results of those suggestions. This is a very common practice; gun manufacturers and importers regularly work with BATFE as the firearm industry’s regulatory agency.
So while we mourn the lack of the 28-gauge revolver, the good news is Rossi will be selling its Circuit Judge in 28-gauge, according to a company spokesperson.

If they were smart, they would sell it not just as a circuit judge but I also the Trail Judge (Mare’s Leg) which would actually be really cool and something I would buy in a heart beat.

I am alittle disappointed but not surprised that the 28 gauge “Raging Judge” will not be sold to the public, I guess to the BATF it is more like a sawed off shotgun than a revolver, the Raging Judge would have made a great trail gun, or a home defence weapon ! Off of the subject I wish Taurus could modify their “Judges” to shoot not only the .410 and .45 Colt but also the .45 ACP as Smith and Wesson has done with their “Govenor”, .45 Colt is difficult to find, while .45 ACP can be purchased at the Walmart at nearly half the cost !

I happened to see the latest gun magazine with revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles for 2012 and noticed the Taurus 28 gauge “Raging Judge”, maybe there is still hope the weapon may still be sold to the public next year ! Or maybe it was just a misprint !

They should make more, they look freaking epic

to those lamenting not being able to fire the 45 acp in a 45 Long Colt gun without modifying the cylinder, I have developed the solution to this and it requires ZERO modifications to the firearm. I am currently waiting on copyright/patent rights so I can market it. the finished product would be reusable and sell for only about $10. I wonder if it would be a selling product if I went through the trouble and expense to market it. would any of you buy something like that?
