If you're in North Carolina, you'd better read this

The governor's declaration of a state of emergency for Hurricane Earl actually makes it illegal for you to transport, sell, buy or carry a firearm off your premisis. I know, I know, it shocks me, too. I thought we learned some tough lessons a few years ago in New Orleans (be sure to watch the video below). The good news is a court challenge was filed on July 28. In the meantime, though, dove season opens tomorrow and despite NC's governor telling folks not to worry about driving your gun to your hunting area, it's illegal until the state of emergency is rescinded. Barbecue ninja threatens to skewer burglar

Posted by GuySagi, Today, 03:33 PM

Dateline Utah: A man armed with a barbecue fork and a boning knife held a burglar until police arrived. When our ninja barbecue hero put his culinary weapons down after authorities arrived, the bad guy decided it was safe to tenderize a policeman's face in an attempt to escape.

A short foot chase ensued, and when cornered the bad guy pulled a butter knife. He was summarily seared with a tazer and is undergoing a traditional grilling.

Hat tip to the Outdoor Pressroom.

A 56-year-old Texas woman was attacked this week in broad daylight at a Wal-Mart parking lot. Luckily, she has a concealed-carry permit and got to her gun before things got really bad.

The bad guy and an accomplice escaped in an SUV that has at least one bullet hole for added ventilation.

A 69-year-old grandmother, who sleeps with a pistol under her pillow, displayed her marksmanship skills at 3 a.m. this week when an intruder broke into her home and invaded her bedroom.

The bad guy took one to the stomach (can you say center mass?) and the story warns "...intruders will think twice before messing with her again"

A Nashville waiter or waitress has filed a complaint alleging Tennesee's new regulation allowing guns in establishments serving alcohol creates an unsafe work environment. The whiner's name was withheld in the complaint.
